Antique Rocking Chair

I would appreciate help in determining the value and origin of a rocking chair that I purchased several years ago. It has a foot stool that folds underneath the chair and also an adjustable back.

Hello All

I purchased a rocker from an old farmer about 6 years ago. I was wondering if anyone may recognize it and might know the maker.

Thanks
Roger

Close up of metal hanger on rung

Close up of metal hanger on rung

Can anyone give information on what type of chair this is?
It may have come from Canada, not sure. We believe it was made around 1850-1880. It had a cane seat, but would like verification of that also. Would that have been the original type of seat. It is small and belonged to my great grandmother. I am replacing the seat but am confused by the metal hanger. Should it be a woven cane seat? Does any one know if there is a specific name for this kind of furniture?
It must have been common and inexpensive but we have not seen other pieces with this metal feature.

There is one piece of what I think is the original cane left on the back of the back rung with one nail holding it in. There are no other nail holes. I have two other pictures but am having a hard time loading them to the site. I will send them in Part 2 and Part 3 of this question.

thank you

Here is the view of the chair with the seat on which I think may be a replacement, but done very early, maybe 1920's.

I WAS GIVEN THIS ROCKER BY AN AUNT WHO SAID IT DATED FROM THE 1900's. It has been painted 3 or 4 times and the seat recovered although it has all the original padding. Can someone please give me an approximate date of manufacture and value? Thank you.

antique rocking chairs with lions head on the armrest

Small Antique Rocking Chair

Small Antique Rocking Chair

These are my dad's chairs and we need to sell them. They have been in our personal family for over 40 yrs and even before that they were in my aunt's family.

We think they came from Germany but are not sure.

The arms look like some kind of a lion head. We also have a larger chair that matches except it does not have all the carving on the back.
