antique table or not?

i purchased this set from a thrift shop because it seemed old and unique to me. it is a table and 4 chairs. slot head screws and morteses appear to be done in an older fashion. has watertown slide on the bottom which is the gear mechanism. appears to be of hardwood, i would suspect oak. and i would guess age to be 1930-1940. i am new to puchasing antiques and would like some info. here are some pictures. jeff.
