Table with Gargoyle(?) legs
This antique table,in our family for many years, is in very good structural condition, but the finish on the top need restoration. I have been advised to have the entire table stripped and refinished. I have heard that refinishing an antique can decrease its value so I hesitate to do that without other opinions.
I would like to have the table style and year identified.
There is no identifying names on the table. There are approximately 5 large numbers on the underside which are difficult to see.
Structurally the table top, three leaves, base and legs are sturdy heavy solid wood and in excellent condition.
Please advise me about having it refurbished and valued. Any information would be very much appreciated.
