Antique Tables

I have an antique drop leaf tabe with the claw feet with brass over the feet. I cannot locate any kind of maker stamp on this piece. I know that it was given to me by my now 68 year old aunt and she told me that it belonged to her grandmother. How do I tell where it came from and who the maker of the piece is?
