Bedroom furniture w/ antique vanity
vanity
My husbands grandmother passed away last Saturday night. Upon returning to NC for her memorial services, we (my husband, his brother and family and my in laws) have to stay at her home like we usually do. Knowing that she is gone and the insurmountable task of cleaning out her home upon us, we began to look over what she had. This bedroom suite is in one of her bedrooms and we usually sleep there when we visit. I had no idea that my inlaws were going to offer it to my daughter. Shes 15 and loves vintage things. The story is that this entire set was given to my mother in laws grandmother by her husband for their twentieth wedding anniversary. She said she wanted her granddaughter to have it and it went into her parents home to just sit. She never went and got it because she didn't need it. My mother in law is about 60 yrs old so I think that her grandparents would have celebrated their 20th when she was a teenager. So I am thinking this is about 40-50 yrs old. The vanity is the piece that we feel is so unique because they simply don't make these anymore. This set is in MINT condition as everything else in her home. We are also looking at a large piece of furniture that looks like a chest but is a record player and a radio on the bottom. It still has original papers and new needles for the record player. She has a record collection that still has plastic on some of the records. A few of them are Elvis records. My husband has asked for this piece but we are not sure who else has thrown their opinions in about it. Here are the pictures. I would love to know how to care for this as well as what it might be worth.
