Can anyone tell me anything about this sideboard?

(Pittsburgh, PA)

My mother gave me this piece of furniture, from an old house she had purchased in western Pennsylvania.  Can anyone tell me anything about it? 

I believe it's called a sideboard. It's very sturdy, however there is some damage to the top and the mirror has lost some of it's luster. It seems fairly old. However, it's still very beautiful!
