chair and matching sofa

I bought this chair with a matching sofa at a garage sale for a total of 25 dollars. They are very sturdy but the springs are sprung and the cover is dry rot.  

I started working on the sofa and discovered there is horse hair in some of it.  The other padding is a thick cotton which seems in very good condition.  

I am thinking about re-doing it in leopard print for a designer look but open to suggestions. If you can help me identify the date and the style that would be helpful. Any other information you have is appreciated.
