Does anyone have any knowledge to share on this piece?

Was hoping to get any information we can on this piece. Date? Maker? Origin? Value? We found this piece in Tennessee on vacation 2 years ago and just recently went back for vacation and they still had it so we had to bring it home. The guy we bought it from guessed late 1800's to early 1900's. The engravings are remarkable. It seems there is not an area with out carvings. Thanks in advance for any information given.
