Dresser Antique or Not ?

Hi Everyone,

I purchased these two pieces of furniture over a year ago and they told me that the furniture had been in the family for many many years. I have researched a lot of different sites to see if I could find some information regarding the two pieces but with no luck.

Could someone tell me anything about these pieces like the age, type of wood, etc? One dresser has the original hardware.

Or tell me how to go about finding out some information on the furniture. I have attached some photos of the two pieces so you can see the detail in the hardware, carvings, and the dove tails.

I really would appreciate any information you could give me.
