Empire Sofa Question

I'm hoping you can provide some insight for me. I've been looking for an empire sofa for quite some time. I want to make sure the sofa I buy is authentic, not a reproduction. I also want a fair price, especially given the economy. I'm considering this sofa below. Total cost, including shipping, would be just under $1400. I plan to reupholster the sofa, so maybe put another $1,00 into it.

Does this look like an sofa built circa 1830? The condition is reportedly good. No cracks, repairs, etc. Just minor dings to the the frame.

Any help you can provide would be most appreciated.
