Essen Lager German Table Mark (Knoll table?)

Hi there. I'm trying to find out the maker of this table. It looks like a Knoll table, but it could be a lesser maker. In any case, the only information on the bottom is that it was made in 1965, the words "essen lager" appear on the stamp, and there's a small, square, plastic mark attached. The mark is black with white etching in the shape of a bird and, maybe, the letter "k" (thus, the guess at Knoll). Help!
