My wife and I purchased this set 15 years ago from her sister who owned it 20 years prior to that. So it has been in our family for the last 35 years. We are now thinking about parting with the furniture because of our small children and different decor. I am trying to identify the age and maybe an idea of how much I should expect should I try to sell it. Set includes table, 6 chairs, buffet, hutch. The table appears to have a mahogany veneer top. Three of the chairs have a paper label on the bottom that says "Hartwig & Kemper, Baltimore". The other 3 chair are a little different design. I can not seem to find any other markings. I have included a photo of the hutch. The hutch, table and buffet have metal casters. I would appreciate anyone's comments.

Thanks
Jeff B.

Purchased a small Hartwig & Kemper chair from a flea market for $30.00. Had it appraised several years later by an antique dealer, who said it was a "child's chair" and appraised it for $500.00. I don't know much about this company...know they were victims of the Great Chicago Fire in 1904. They were German furniture makers...apparently after the fire they returned to Germany????? There is absolutely nothing about them on the Internet. The appraiser I used did not know anything about this company...I gave him what information I had found...he appraised the chair according to it's time period, not the manufacturer.
