Table base

I need info on the Hastings furniture co. Michigan.
I purchased an antique dining room table with a label.
The table is round and opens with a split pedestal to fit 4 leaves. The table has lion paw feet with lion heads. the sideboard has lion-like gargoyles and a mirror and lion paw feet. (different than the table) The china cupboard has curved glass sides and a center door & has the same gargoyles and feet as the sideboard. I'm thinking they are not by the same maker.

Hastings Furniture Company - Michigan
by: Anonymous

Hastings - turn of the century and very well made. Their oak dining tables are highly collectible - in excellent condition they can sell for prices upwards of $3,000 depending on the style - styles ranged from very ornate to very simple.

Hastings Kitchen Cabinets question
by: Anonymous

Does anyone know if the this Hastings Furniture Company made Kithen(Hoosier type) cabinets. I just bought one that has a label on front Hastings with the ewords underneath A Smarter's day work. I feel this piece is pre 1909 with a zinc top. I cannot find the location of Hastings Furniture Co in Michigan anywhere on the internet. Mike

Table No: 2241
by: Lorraine

I have also just received this same table; mine, however, has been cut down to make it a coffee table and i do not have the leaf extenders. However, my take does have the huge lion paws, is table no# 2241 and has the original sticker from the Hastings Furniture Company, Hastings, MI.
This table has been in my family since my mother was a little girl, so I am guessing since 1939-1943??? I know my mother grew up in Hawaii as my grandfather was stationed there during the war.
I have no idea when my grandmother purchased this, or where she purchased it. I do know that she told me she purchased it already cut down, with no leaf's and she purchased it at some antique store.

inherited table
by: Jackie

I have just inherited a Hastings Table Co. from my Great Grandparents. The Table Number is 21966 - size 48 Oak, with four 9 inch extenders. Pedestal with claw feet. The sticker says Michigan but Great Grandparents lived in Missouri? It is not dated, but can I find it's built date from you? Thanks!

Hastings Tabke Co
by: Wally

I also have a 54 inch diameter oak table with 5 leaves, each 9" and would like to know its age.
A label on the crate for the leaves has two numbers: one is hand written and I can not read it. The other is mechanically produced and is "No 15229". It was made for "Denver Dry Goods Company". It does not have a fluted urn on the pedestal.

My Grandfather lived in or near Denver from 1901 to 1913. I think it is likely that he bought the table new and, knowing other circumstance, I guess the date of manufacture to be between 1905 and 1910.

Info. about the Hastings Table Co. or whatever it's called.
by: Chiri

I have been trying endless hours for 2 days to find on ''Google'',and on ''ask.com'' about Hastings Furniture Co. Michigan ...and Hastings Table Co. Michigan....I can't find ANYTHING!!!

All I would like to know is, the earliest year it started to make their oak tables, and when did it stop. And who were the furniture makers.

I can't believe there's nothing on the subject, and I tried MANY MANY different phrases, to see if something comes up, but no :((

Can anyone give me the history of the Hastings Table Co.?
