Help! I need your help in providing any input you might have for me

These chairs were purchased from an elderly man in Germany back in 1980. They were stored in his barn. The pictures below should help more. They are solid wood, no visible nails, weight about 12 pounds. There is a hand carved section on the back.
Any info at all that you might have would be very much appreciated.
