Mystery Rocking Chair

I wish this rocking chair could talk. I'd ask the chair about the people it held, I'd ask it about its surrounding whilst it was in use. I want to know this chair.

By befriending this mystery rocking chair I've, by now, looked at...via the internet, libraries, etc., 1,000 or so rocking chairs and I have yet to see another rocker such as this. What sets this rocker apart is not only its 'hooped back,' but that its arms extent all the way down to its runners. Of the hundreds of rocking chairs I've seen since my curiosity about this chair sent me on this so far 'wild goose chase,' not one rocking chair I've seen has arms such as this. That is, arms that extend not just around the back of the chair and its fiddle-back solid splat, but the 'rail' (arm) comes to the front then, essentially, to the floor...to the very runners of this rocking chair.

Now, if this chair was factory made...shouldn't there be at least one other like it? And if it was created by an individual craftsman....shouldn't someone know the style and so forth?

I care about this chair, and if its beyond my means to have it restored, most likely I'll donate it to someone, perhaps with a museum, who will see to it that this chair is preserved as the only 'living' example of its kind. I don't want this chair, that is, its kind, to become extinct!

Had you told me, before I found this chair, that I'd be so daft over a rocking chair...I'd have teased you about such a silly thought. Now the 'silly thought' is my reality...and if you can give this chair any kind of voice...please speak for it by speaking to me.

Thank you.
