Is it a bed a couch or a day bed? or?

My neighbors moved out to a smaller house and gave me this furniture. I should have asked some questions about its history and how it was acquired.

It seems to be too large to be a couch.

It has wooden pegs that keeps the back rest and the arm rests attached.

If anyone can give me some input it would be helpful. thanks
