Metal/Steel "Carved" Desk???

I recently found an old desk to use as a vanity in my bedroom. It looks like it's a carved, wooden desk. However, it is made of steel. It is black in color, has a "carved" lip on the top, and "carved" legs. Has one drawer with 2 knobs.

I am curious to find out some info on it. I looked for a stamp of some kind or a name, but was unable to find one.

Any ideas on who the maker might have been and what year/decade it appears to be from. I'm also curious as to how much it could be worth.
