Old chair maker?

We have a set of dining room chairs that were my husband's grandfathers. His grandpa died in 1998 and was in his late 70's. They had original rush seats which were in poor condition so we had them restored. The couple restoring them showed us markings on the legs of the chairs, indicating possibly the maker. I'd like to know if anyone knows how old these chairs are, and/or the furniture maker. The initials are NS, stacked on top of one another. Please see pics.
