Queen Anne styled side or music chiar

I have a pair of matching chairs that I believe are Queen Anne period.
They are signed/initialed (struck) with the letters "JC".
The letters appear under the front of the chair seat.
Anyone have any ideas whose initials they may be?
Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the chairs to post yet. I'm working on that.
I'm an obvious novice, but learning. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
