hand carved side table
Good afternoon good people. I have been surfing the net looking for anyone who can offer info on this side table of mine. I bought it in NZ for 30dollars. It was covered in old lead undercoat and topcoat and the design could not be seen. After 100+ hours the picture is the end result. I was told it was Circa 1890+ African Snakewood. Then I heard it is Indonesia Redwood. ?? I know it is old. Can anyone give me anymore info please thanks heaps. It is finely carved all over top to bottom. The top carving is of a Peacock.
It looks like a Redwood to me.
