Sideboard or Buffet

We purchased not sure if it is a sideboard or a buffet it has 3 drawers in the front with a door on each side of the drawers. It is a very dark wood with carving on it. It has ball and claw feet. It came here from England. I am curious about a drawer it has on the inside of doors it is located at the bottom and it looks to be lined with metal or something just wondering what it could be and what its use is. Any idea!!
