I bought this yesterday in Rocky Point, NC from a lady at a re-sale shop. I only paid $185.00 for it. It appears to be walnut. It is solid wood. The top is 1/2 inch thick solid plank with no seams. There is only veneer on the 3 drawers that looks like burl walnut. The brass is original to the piece, I can tell by the patina around them. There is a wine drawer. The doors are carved in a darker wood that may be mahogany or stained to look like it. It had a hutch at one time. I would love to know how old it is. It is in good condition with a few age scuffs. There are NO marks or numbers anywhere on the piece except 1 where someone was adding measurements.

How old
by: JeffG

Its hard to tell how old without seeing the side of a drawer. By style it is Victorian or more recent - anywhere from the 1880's to 1950's. Based on the mixed woods and undamaged appearance I would guess the more recent part of that time range - maybe 1940's?
