T.P. Sherborne 1849 Dining Room Table?

I work for a moving company and recently moved an elderly couple who asked me if I had ever seen a table with wooden hinges. I'm 29 years old so they wasn't too surprised when I answered no. That's when they directed my attention to the table, its actually a beautiful table, in perfect condition. The hinges blew my mind they are in fact a very interesting design, but what really got my attention was the seal in the center of the hinges. Stamped T.P. Sherborne 1849. When I asked the owner about the table she was limited with her info, so I volunteered to research it for her on the internet, so if any one has any information about the origin of the table could you please educate me so that I can educate the owners. If it helps she said that it was an heirloom and the family name is Cloyd from southwestern VA thank you.
