Unknown Chair Sydney

My wife saved this chair from being dumped during a recent property reno in Sydney, Australia. For no other reason other than: she simply loves this chair, has she persuaded me to restore and re-upholster. We are therefore keen to try and ascertain the chairs origin and some history. Does anyone have any clues as to where this chair is from? One person has suggested Indonesia, whilst someone else believes it could be Italian.
