What kind of dresser is this?

Front. legs are scrolled out really pretty

I purchased this dresser at an antiques store just when they'd pulled in from an auction. I never gave them a chance to unload it! It's gorgeous! Heavy, dove tailed but some nails have been added because the wood is separating in places.
Some dumb kid must have had it at one time because a phone number was scratched into the top but it's been stained over, so it's not real prominent. But since it's obviously been stained or painted...I'm not sure if that hurts the value.
The wood is dark. The pull out drawers are dark and the back board is dark, too.
