Who makes the furniture with the "Egg" on it??

Received an old wooden accent piece with the "Egg" in the middle of it. I know the egg is a trade mark for a maker but don't know who or what time period.
The piece is 16" X 9" X 3" and has the roman numeral "X IIII" etched in the back.
