Wood Whittlers in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

I recently purchased a great mid-century/dutch modern looking desk at a yard sale in Georgia. The only marking on it is a small, foil label that reads "Wood Whittlers -Gatlinburg, TN"
The desk appears to be from the 60's but I am at a loss for any further information regarding the company. A web search only indicates that they are still in business, but I was looking for their history etc...Any information would be most appreciated.

I carve there have off and on for years they are known for high quialty wood wooking altho they dont make furniture any more. Only wood carvings. The owners name is Chris Compton

Hi Jeff,

I ran across your request for information on a desk you had purchased at a yard sale. My grandfather started The Wood Whittler's in Gatlinburg over fifty years ago. I was practically "raised" at the business. I would love to see a picture of the desk if you have one.
